Velour

Definition

A plush knit fabric with a dense, short pile surface that mimics velvet but with more stretch and drape. Velour is typically 220-320 gsm and is used in tracksuits, loungewear, and fashion-forward streetwear. The pile is created by shearing the loops of a terry knit, producing a smooth, lustrous surface that catches light directionally.
