Water-Based Ink
Definition
A screen printing ink that uses water as the solvent, allowing it to penetrate the fabric fibres rather than sitting on top like plastisol. The result is an extremely soft hand feel with no perceptible print texture — the design feels like part of the fabric. Water-based inks are more environmentally friendly than plastisol but require more skill to print, work best on light-coloured 100% cotton, and have a more muted, vintage appearance.
