Weft
Definition
The crosswise yarns woven through the warp on a loom, also called the fill or pick. The weft passes over and under the warp yarns according to the weave pattern — plain, twill, or satin. Weft yarn choice (fibre, colour, thickness) directly influences fabric drape, texture, and appearance. In denim, for example, the undyed white weft creates the characteristic fading pattern with wear.
