Carbon Footprint

Definition

The total greenhouse gas emissions caused by the production, use, and disposal of a garment, measured in CO2 equivalent. A conventional cotton t-shirt generates approximately 7 kg of CO2 across its lifecycle. Manufacturing in Portugal reduces the carbon footprint for European brands by eliminating the long-haul shipping from Asia — a container from Barcelos to London produces roughly 90% less transport emissions than one from Dhaka.
