Chambray
Definition
A lightweight plain-weave fabric woven with a coloured warp and white weft, giving it a characteristic heathered appearance often mistaken for denim. Chambray typically weighs 100-160 gsm, making it ideal for shirts, lightweight jackets, and summer garments. Unlike denim, chambray uses a plain weave rather than twill, resulting in a softer, less structured hand.
