Denim
Definition
A durable twill-weave fabric traditionally made from cotton, woven with indigo-dyed warp and undyed weft yarns. Denim weight ranges from 5 oz (lightweight, ~170 gsm) for shirts to 14+ oz (~475 gsm) for heavy selvedge jeans. The twill construction gives denim its characteristic diagonal ribbing and makes it one of the most hard-wearing apparel fabrics available.
